On January 12, 2021, the Department of Labor (the DOL ) issued three pieces of guidance detailing the
DOL s view of what steps plan fiduciaries should take to locate
and distribute retirement benefits to missing or nonresponsive
participants ( missing participants ). The guidance is
largely consistent with positions taken by DOL in investigations.
The guidance provides DOL s views on what is best
practices in searching for missing participants and a glimpse
into DOL s enforcement process under its missing participant
initiative. However, the guidance does not establish the type of
Danbury Fire Department Acting Chief Retires After 36 Years
After more then three decades of serving the Danbury community, Danbury s acting Fire Chief Mark Omasta has called it quits.
According to a press release from the Fire Department, Mark began his 36 year firefighting career in 1984 with Citizens Hose Company 6 in Wilton. After a year, he returned to Danbury and from then on he has worked as a firefighter, an EMT and as an aircraft rescue firefighter.

He was promoted to a Lieutenant in 1999, an EMS training officer in 2007, Assistant Fire Chief in 2014 and took over as acting Fire Chief when Chief Wiedl retired in June of 2020.
